Perfectly timed, not long after the warranty expired. BRB, shopping for a new hacksaw. Apologies in advance to the polar bears.

40k warranty?! Thats pretty weak, loud exhaust noise isn’t weak ... bro.

I spoke too soon - Looks like the exhaust is covered under a special 5 yr / 50k emissions warranty, not the standard 3 yr / 36k one.
Still annoying.

2500? Probably needs a regen if that is the case

Looks like a diesel ram if I’m not mistaken? In that case, should be good until 100k warranty for powertrain, or, if I recall correctly, emissions devices are for life of the vehicle?

Since I posted this, I ran two bottles of Diesel Kleen through it, refilled the DEF tank, and the temp has increased significantly. It went through a regen and it’s been fine since.
My prognosis is that it was a combo of frozen DEF, and one of the DPF sensor lines needs cleaned. Will get it fixed when I get the water pump recall done.

Ah okay. I worked on the 1500 and grand cherokee diesels when I was at Chrysler. And chances are yes it’s the DEF system that is frozen, being that DEF is’ a water based liquid I believe it’ll start to freeze around -10 C.
